These bulbs are much brighter and whiter than incandescent ones they replaced. They are lowered to about 20 of the maximum so as not to obscure enough so both. by Tom C

These were a great buy Comparing the bulb with a 40 watt bulb I'd say these bulbs are very bright Much brighter than the 60 -watt incandescent bulbs I had before. by Mike Ostic
